I believe that the current situation in Egypt is the absolute best outcome that could be hoped for following
the recent peaceful revolution. The military is respected by the people, understands and has no trust for the Muslim Brotherhood,
has a good relationship with America, has promised to honor the peace treaty with Israel, and has promised to turn over control
to a democratically elected government.
Things are starting to return to normal in Egypt. They are already allowing vehicle
traffic in Tahrir Square and it is probably only a matter of days until the Cairo Museum is reopened. I believe regular travel
to Egypt should resume in a couple of weeks.
At this time we at Museum Tours plan to operate our March Tours as scheduled.
Fianlly,
this marks the last daily post on this site. I will post at least once a week with anything interesting I hear, and I will post
anytime something noteworthy comes to my attention. So check back every once in a while. Also I will continue to post
comments as received.

Bill, Do you know if Mohammed Anwar is safe? I saw him in Luxor and early Janurary. - Suzanne
> I have not
spoken with Mohamed in about a week. But he was fine then and I assume he still is or I would have heard. - Bill

Bill, Nancy,
hi --- we've been following events (mainly from Laos and Cambodia on a trip - and Cambodia and Thailand were exchanging artillery
shells across the border just before we left...) and we're delighted you're now back home. It's a terrible shame that the tourist
trade has collapsed (again) and it's a major blow to your business and to all the Egyptians that it supports. We hope things will
normalize quickly but worry that Mubarak will try to hang on to power. We hope to travel with you again in the future. We remember
your 'specials' and tell all our Egyptological friends about them. - Ian and Avril
